Thursday, 13 December 2012

Wagoora, Central Queensland - Dowdens Pumping and Water Treatment together with supply partner Irrysis are working together to improve farm profitability and environmental compliance.

With a goal of increasing efficiencies in the operation of farm irrigation systems, Dowdens and their supply partners are investing time and resources educating growers of the latest technological advances.

These advancements are designed to lower operating costs and improve irrigation effectiveness, which combines to deliver increased production and improved farm profitability, whilst lowering a farms environmental footprint.

At a recent on farm field day at Wagoora (central QLD), a group of local farmers were introduced to the Irrysis pump control system and variable rate irrigation on a centre pivot irrigator.

These two systems working together, are designed to lower energy costs through improved pump operation control and water usage by regulating the amount of irrigation water that is applied.

This results in lower operating costs, less irrigation run off and improved productivity.

The field day was hosted by grower John Fox and attended by members of the Dowdens Agricultual Irrigation Sales Team and a representative from Irrysis, an Australian based company which specialises in providing pump control solutions.
